Rudlin Torah Academy 2009 Chesed Award Recipients

Rudlin Torah Academy presented its 2009 Chesed Awards to Michael Z. Blumberg, M.D., and Vivian and Richard Murad at the Weinstein JCC on Sunday, May 31.

Nearly 200 people attended the dinner, which also honored past RTA president Ellen Renée Adams with the ABCD award, and longtime employees Lin Hardy, Leah Skaist, and Rabbi Yosef Skaist with the Years of Dedication (YOD) award.

Blumberg spoke of the importance of chesed in his life and thanked his mentors in the Jewish community, Rick Gary and Albert Katz. Katz, a past Chesed honoree, also introduced Blumberg, a prominent allergist in Richmond.

The Murads, owners of Print Shack, were introduced by their daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Nathan Zasler. Vivian Murad said, “It is you, the community, that really deserves this award, for without all of you, we could not accomplish anything.”
