Rudlin Torah Academy Dedicates Bernstein Campus
The newly named Milton & Sadie Bernstein campus of the Rudlin Torah Academy was dedicated in style on May 27th. This event paid great tribute to the memory of the remarkable couple whose estate bequeathed the largest gift to date in RTA’s 44-year history.
A primary theme of the dedication program was the strong devotion the Bernstein family had towards the critical importance of a strong Jewish education. Family members noted, “Not having any children of their own, Milton and Sadie were extremely close to their nieces and nephews, and the education of Jewish children was very dear to their hearts. As Milton and Sadie’s final days approached, they stipulated in their will that RTA should have the means to continue its important mission.”
Representatives of the Bernstein family at the dedication included nephews Cliff Bernstein, who unveiled the beautiful new campus sign, and Jay Ipson, who delivered a most inspiring dedication address. Guest speakers included the Honorable William Janis, Member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and Jewish Community Federation President Jim Weinberg. A strong turnout of the Jewish community leadership was in attendance, representing JCFR, Weinstein JCC, Richmond Jewish Foundation, Virginia Holocaust Museum and more.
